Adam Aftyka - Nov 2013
He has been treated in Warsaw and in London. In London dr John Hungerford managed to safe only one Adam's eye with the innovative treatment (Melphalan).
Unfortunately, doctors in London weren't able to give Adam any further treatment and propose to remove his only eye that has left. Adam will receive a treatment in Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center which is very expensive but it gives a chance to safe his eye.
From February 2013 Adam is treated in the USA, New York. The child has specialized eye treatments at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and 3 chemotherapy cycles at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. Cost of treatment was over $80,000.
As a result of complications after chemotherapy, the boy was hospitalized twice in intensive care unit at MSKCC. Treatment bills were very financially burdensome for Adasia's family. The funds collected for Adasia's treatment have been exhausted for chemotherapy and specialized eye treatments.
At this stage Dr.Abramson managed to save Adasia's second eye, but there is a need for systematic checks at Memorial Hospital combined with the continuation of oncology-gynecological treatment.
