December 2012: Meeting with Santa
Traditionally, in the beginning of December, a Santa event is organized for children. This year, the event was on December 8th in the auditorium of Holy Cross, which was filled with smiling children with their families, for whom Santa was awaiting with presents.
There were many attractions for the children that evening. Volunteers, dressed as elves, organized an arts and crafts room for the children during the whole event. Together, they made snowman and snowflakes as well as Christmas trees and many other things. The spectacular Magic Show captivated the young audience as well as the participation in various contests that awarded prizes. For the guests, sponsors provided snacks; wonderful baked goods from Syrena Bakery Inc., tasty snacks from Steve’s Meat Market, “Kiszka” and Krakus. Polish & Slavic Credit Union provided abundant presents for the children and Euro Optical sponsored the main prize, a scooter.
Like always, the event has a Christmas Tree with ornaments that contained Polish orphanage names and the guests provided donations for the homes.
Thanks to our supporters, we were able to help families in our community during this year’s Christmas time as well as children from orphanages in Poland.
