Valentine’s Day Ball

The annual Children’s Smile Foundation’s Valentine’s Day Ball was held on February 13th, 2016 in the Elegant Elite Palace of Woodside. Every year during the Ball, individuals who are dedicated to the fate of sick children, are honored by the Foundation. Mr. and Mrs. Natkaniec, the owners of the company AMN Corporation Heating & Plumbing Contractor, were honored for the long standing support of the Children’s Smile Foundation and it’s activities. The entertainment was provided under direction of Mrs. Bozena Konkiel from Kobo Music Studio. Claudia Nytko, Nicholas Capons, and Robert Bronchard presented music in the classical style.

In the annual tradition of the Children’s Smile Foundation an auction was held to profit the needy children. In this year’s auction, led by the President of the Foundation, Marek Skulimowski, the emotions were intense. Among some of the items auctioned, were an autographed shirt by Robert Lewandowski, a member of the national polish soccer team, an autographed photo by Justyna Kowalczyk and a ball with signatures of polish tennis players. Additionally there were lithographs and Rafal Oblinski’s newest book, paintings by Bogdan Kujawski, Zbigniew Sokolowski and Halina Wiel. Thanks to the donors and participants the profits from this year’s auction was a remarkable $6,200.00.

Also a raffle was held to provide an opportunity for the guests to support the efforts of the Foundation in assisting in the fight against eye cancer of Matilda Jastrowicz. Each purchased raffle ticket helped to support the necessary treatment of this young girl and gave the participants a chance to win many attractive prizes. The guests of honor, Mr and Mrs. Natkaniec, funded the grand prize: a 55-inch Samsung Television. American Tavel Abroad funded a plane ticket from New York to Warsaw, the Foundation, a GoPro Camera, the company INGLOT, an attractive cosmetics set and Broadway tickets, and the Polish Slavic Federal Credit Union, raffle gift baskets and gift certificates. The lucky ones were also able to draw jewelry from Tiffany & Co. and many other consolation prizes. We would like to dearly thank our sponsors for the awards they provided. Through the raffle we managed to collect $3,260.00 from the purchase of raffle tickets for the lottery. This money helped to pay for Matilda’s stay at Ronald McDonald House in New York and her treatment with Dr. Abramson.

The total income of the Ball was more than $18,000.00, which will allow us to help children in need. The wonderful musical setting for the event was the responsibility of The Masters, who for many years have been engaged in the activities and events of Children’s Smile Foundation. Their exceptional performance of well-known hits kept many guests on the dance floor until the late hours of the evening.
