“Evening of Fine Arts" at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, NY

“Evening of Fine Arts" at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, NY
“Evening of Fine Arts", an annual auction of paintings organized by the Children's Smile Foundation, took place on June 10, 2017 at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York.

This event has permanently integrated itself into the cultural calendar of New York’s polish population. It is not surprising that many guests came to the exhibition and the accompanying auction to view and potentially acquire the following artists works: Jerzy Chojnowski, Bogdan Kujawski, Ewa Zeller, Magdalena Zawadzka, Jacek Szymula, Maria Nowak, Nina Kedzierska and Krzysztof Kościkiewicz.

Guests welcomed the Consul General Maciej Golubiewski, who came with his wife.

“An Evening of Fine Arts" had as unusually unique musical setting. In the gallery you could hear young pianists from Kobo Music Studio: Zosia Kułaga, Antoni Żarkowski and Marcin Żarkowski. In the mirror room, in the official part of the venue, classical music was performed by the outstanding young pianist Nicholas Kaponyas from Kobo Music Studio.

The auction was led by Mariusz Śniarowski, president of the foundation, together with the director Joanna Gwoźdz. This year, 52 works were been released for sale, including Rafał Olbiński's "Love for Love”.

Mrs. Joanna Gwózdz, Director of CSF, received a donation of paintings, more than 20 works from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw and from Lublin. These are paintings by university professors from Poland.

The images of Zbigniew Sokołowski and Bogdan Kujawski, who have supported the foundation for years, were the most popular. The total amount obtained from this year's auction was $5,626.

As it is every year, works performed by children from orphanages and social centers in Poland were also presented. This year, the first children from New York’s polish schools also took part in this event and handed over their beautiful pictures.

The Children's Smile Foundation would like to warmly thank all those who supported this year's "Evening of Fine Art" - Consulate General of the Republic of New York, artists who donated their works, donors who offered pictures from their private collections, musicians, volunteers and all those who financially support the foundation in helping children in need.
