After the death of his brother and his friend, who also suffered from this disease, Maciej lost all faith that his dream of visiting New York City would ever come true.

In April, although being bound to a wheelchair, Maciej, his family and his guardian from Foundation Dziecieca Fantazja, Paulina Cieluch, spent a week in New York. Children’s Smile foundation was able to make this dream come true for Maciej.

Directors of the Children’s Smile Foundation: Joanna Mrzyk, Beata Jakubowska, Joanna Mróz-Rakowicz, Waldemar Rakowicz and Małgorzata Czajkowska spent some unforgettable moments with Maciej. Thanks to people of good will, Maciej was able to visit the city of his dreams. Some places they visited were: Time Square, Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange, a bull on Broadway, observation point on the top of the Freedom Tower 102 floor the Brooklyn Bridge, and lastly Greenpoint where, thanks to the courtesy of PSFCU, he visited the largest branch of our Polish financial institution. We are very glad to have brought a joyful smile to Maciej's face and we hope that these memories will stay with him forever.
